As the polls close tonight, I am reflecting on the hundreds of postcards I have mailed across America since January 2025. I have a simple message: the sheer volume of money spent in and around our elections is openly buying access to government power and influence. Without funds of my own, I took that appeal—along with a few tangential and related concerns—directly to my neighbors in mostly rural, conservative communities through handwritten postcards. Writing under a pseudonym keeps our focus squarely on the appeal for democratic accountability. I hope it proves that simple actions and small voices do matter.
