No Clear Agenda

For Amanda McKinney, the strongest focus is the campaign’s effort to deliver different messages to different parts of the district—water and local accountability in Yakima, and national cultural and endorsement politics across the broader district.

Yakima voters are targeted with local concerns: water rights, water storage, farming, business, and family impacts.

District-wide Republican voters are targeted with national themes: girls’ sports, Title IX, alleged taxpayer fraud, opposition to “career politicians,” and Donald Trump’s endorsement.

The campaign specifically asks for digital, connected-TV, mail, and text messaging—and says voters outside the Yakima media market should receive those messages more frequently.

The strategy presents McKinney as an outsider fighting the establishment while relying heavily on Trump’s endorsement and an attack on rival Jerrod Sessler’s claim of Trump support.

The contrast creates a useful postcard message: local voters are promised practical advocacy, but much of the campaign’s broader appeal is built around national partisan identity and a dispute over who has Trump’s backing.
