Afford a Future

Here are the facts on Spencer, Iowa. It’s a heavily conservative town in Clay County, but economically it’s a working-class community where the median household income is around $59,000. Most adults don’t have a four-year degree. Many go to local trade schools or community colleges. So, while conservatives there oppose government overreach and huge federal spending programs, working families are still feeling real pressure from tuition costs, public school funding debates, and keeping young people from moving away.
